Simile #3

Simile:

As bald as an eagle.

Concept:

(Truth/Facts): Eagle’s are not bald, but their feather’s natural colors give them the appearance that they are bald.

Explanation/Discussion:

In the English language, Bald is derivative of the word piebald which is making a contrast between the eagle’s dark body and it white head and tail feathers. Because of the contrast of color, the eagle appears to be bald.
